V Rising – How to Create a Dedicated Server

V Rising

V Rising is the latest survival MMORPG. Like other multiplayer titles, this game also relies on a client-host but sometimes, that causes several issues such as crashes, lagging, slow loading times, lost save files, and dropped games. You can solve all of such issues by creating a dedicated server. If you have no idea about it, it is the best alternative that provides a stable and enjoyable gaming experience. If you are interested in creating a dedicated server for V Rising, here we have provided a complete step-by-step guide.

Creating a V Rising Dedicated Server

Before we proceed to create a dedicated server, you should know about the server requirements.

Server Requirements:

– Windows 10 or Server 2016+ and 64 Bit

– Quad-Core processor

– Up to 16 GB of memory. However, it uses currently a 4 GB minimum

– 5 GB of disk space

– Early access copy of the V Rising from Steam

Steps to Create a Dedicated Server:

1. Create a folder C:\VRisingServer

2. Download SteamCMD for Windows

3. Extract the contents of the zip to the folder

4. Create a file named FetchServerFiles.bat and place the following code there

@echo off

start “” steamcmd.exe +login USER PASS +force_install_dir “C:\VRisingServer” +app_update 1829350 validate +quit

5. Once done, make server files from Steam by running the FetchServerFiles.bat

How to Start the Server

To start the server, create a batch file named StartServer.bat with the following:

1. Start VRisingServer.exe -log

2. Run StartServer.bat and it will start loading. It will take around 10 minutes so wait patiently

3. You will find your local save files in the following location:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRisingServer\Saves

Configuration of Your Server

Here is how you can set up your V Rising game server according to your liking.

You will need to create two files to modify game server settings:

1. ServerHostSettings.json

2. ServerGameSettings.json

Create both of these files in the VRisingServer\Settings folder

Joining a Server

To join your V Rising server, follow these steps:

1. Once you open the game click on the Play button

2. Click on Online Play

3. Click on the Find Servers option at the bottom

4. Select the Display all Servers and Settings option at the top of the page

5. Search by the name of the server you setup

Besides, you can also join with your IP/Port which was set up in the first phase of the setup:

1. After launching the game, click on the Play button

2. Go to Online Play

3. Click on the Find Servers option which you will find at the bottom

4. Click on Direct Connect

5. Here, enter in your IP:Port or Server ID to connect

That’s how you can create a V Rising dedicated server and take your gaming experience to the next level.

I am a mechanical engineer in a day job and my passion for gaming led to this website. I enjoy games that have bit of a story depth and mostly single player. One of my favorites is Horizon Zero Dawn. I also dabble in multiplayer, but not battle royals, mostly because I am not good at it. Occasionally, I do enjoy trending survival games such as the latest Valheim and Muck. I have another website where I write more often VGNerdsAtWork.
