Minecraft is a massively popular quintessential sandbox title for new and experienced players. This game provides players with so much freedom and so it is unavoidable that bugs and errors will occur such as Minecraft not updating to v1.19 on Xbox or Bedrock edition being incompatible with launcher error, and others.
Adding to these issues, many players are now complaining on Reddit and Twitter, that they are not able to redeem the free Java edition of Minecraft.
According to multiple reports, players are noticing the buy button instead of the get button when attempting to download the Java version.
To fix this issue, players have already tried some generic workarounds like restarting their gaming device and logging out of their accounts and logging in again but nothing helps and still, they are not able to redeem the Java edition.
Thankfully, the Mojang Support team has commented on this matter and said that devs are aware of this issue and they are working on fixing it.
As you can see, they have acknowledged the issue on their official Twitter page but ETA is not given by them. Hopefully, they will release a patch soon to fix this issue.
Thankfully, there are a few workarounds you can try to fix the “unable to redeem Java edition” issue.
A Potential Workaround: Players need to reset the Microsoft Store app settings from Apps and Features. On the other hand, you can also try to download the game from the Minecraft website.
So far, these are the only things you can try to fix the “Unable to redeem Java edition” issue.
