GTA 5 Now Supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution

AMD, the well-known hardware brand led by Lisa Su, has finally launched its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology that comes as a response to NVIDIA’s DLSS and will be compatible with different titles including GTA 5, over the next few months.

FSR is an open-source spatial scaling technology designed to increase the number of frames per second (fps) in our favorite games while enjoying high image quality and resolution. In the case of FSR, we can enjoy four different options depending on our needs and they will be Performance, Balanced, Quality, and Ultra Quality.

Compatible with more than 100 GPUs from AMD, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5

FidelityFX Super Resolution is compatible with more than 100 multi-generation AMD graphics cards and APUs (RX 6000, RX 5000, RX 500, and RX Vega Series as well as all AMD Ryzen processors with Radeon graphics) as well as being available for graphics as well. NVIDIA being able to work with Series 10, 20, and 30 of the graphics of the competition.

In addition, FSR will also be compatible with Xbox Series X|S, something that Microsoft has been quick to announce. Now, FidelityFX Super Resolution can also be implemented in GTA 5.

Upon launch, FSR tech was supported by only 7 games but AMD was not prepared at all for the speed as a result of which modders have started adding a list of new games.

NarutoUA has managed to switch GTS 5’ internal upscaler with FSR. They did a great job without even retrieving open-source code. However, we still need to wait for a few weeks before this technology becomes supported more extensively.

Conversely, NVIDIA is expanding and improving consistently its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) image reconstruction technology.
