There can be multiple reasons for the crashing issue to happen on PC in Monster Hunter Rise. However, the main reason why MHR is crashing for most of the players in the antivirus installed on the PC. So, one of the best and quick solutions is to simply disable the antivirus program temporarily, restart the PC, and try to launch the game again. But, to run the game without antivirus, you will first need to set it as a whitelist or an exception on the antivirus. Here is how you can do that:
For Avast Free Antivirus
1. Open up the Avast antivirus program, go to the menu
2. Go to settings
3. Then select Exceptions and then click on “Add Exception”
4. Click on Browse to add your game folder
5. Lastly, click on Add Exception
For McAfee Antivirus
1. Open up the McAfee application and then click on Firewall and click on Settings
2. Click on the drop-down arrow to expand the list of Program Permissions menu
3. Click on the Add button
4. Set it to the Access to full and click the Browse button under Program
5. Then, go to the game folder and select the file .exe
6. Lastly, click on Save
For Malwarebytes
1. Open up the Malwarebytes antivirus app
2. Go to Settings >> Exclusions >> Add Exclusion
3. Then, select Exclude a folder or file and then click on Next
4. Click on Select files and find the game folder location
5. Next, select the game file and then click on Open
6. Lastly, check the first option exclude from detection as malware, ransomware, or potentially unwanted item, and then click on “Ok”.
For Bitdefender Antivirus
1. Open up the Bitdefender antivirus app
2. Open up the menu and go to the Protection
3. Go to Advanced Threat Defense >> Manage Exceptions >> Add an Exception
4. Then, click on the search icon, browse your game, and then select the game folder
5. Lastly, click on Add Exception
Most probably, after whitelisting the game, the crashing issue would be resolved in Monster Hunter Rise on the PC version but in case that doesn’t work, you can also try the following workarounds:
